Silver, cast. Bellied, openwork bowl on three rocaille feet. Monogram "FA" in shield, numbering "40" resp. "3.", weight indication "10lt.1g.2d." resp. 9lt.3g.1d.". Hallmarks, date letters "y" resp. "V", master Carl David Schrödel (master 1743, court jeweller 1762) resp. Wittwe Carl D. Schrödel and sons. Weight ca. 288g. without glass. Comes with later, cut glass liners. Min. chips.

Formerly Royal and Electoral Court Silver Collection, Dresden. The monogram refers to Frederick Augustus of Saxony (1750-1827), Elector Frederick Augustus III 1768-1827 and King of Saxony 1806-1827 as Frederick Augustus I, called "The Just".
The Schrödel brothers, court jewellers since 1762, made several silver objects for a service of the Dresden court in the 1770s to 1790s.
